Carts have unique personalities but sometimes cats become overly needy for various reasons. It is normal for some cats to want to be with you as they establish a loving bond with you and care for you as much and deeply as you care for them.
Sometimes a cat can invade your computer keyboard and interfere with you doing any normal tasks. Getting your cat a box with a favorite blanket next to your keyboard or workplace may solve your problem. Cats that invade your work space may be looking for attention, play with the cat more frequently. Build a cat tree/scratching post/cat gym from old cardboard boxes, give your cat more activities and things to do.
Overly needy cats
Cats can learn to become overly needy after serious accident and nursing during recovery or as they get older. What you can do to train your cat to be more independent, is exactly that. Instead of holding your cat, rather play with your cat. Use a piece of string or a toy and instead of holding your cat or letting your cat sit on your lap so often, play with your cat. Always check that your cat does not become overly stressed and substitute games, toys and attention.
You can also ask someone else to feed, stroke and play with your cat every second day.
When your cat starts kneading stop giving the cat any attention, when your cat starts sucking your clothes or material, also stop giving the cat attention.
Things not to do is do not make loud noises, scare the cat or punish the cat in any way.
